Advantages: Some nice new sounds interlaced with a familiarity of Jet loveliness.

Disadvantages: A couple of the early tracks remind you too much of other bands and spoil the first opinion

Being an avid listener to Jet's first album, Get Born, I looked forward to this album with some excitement...and much like the first album, I started off not liking it at all, and now - some 2 months in - having it on constant repeat in the car.

Much like the first album, Jet stick to a couple of very different styles - Standard Indie Rock and ballad-esque almost love pop songs. However, they bring with the new material a mature blues sound which, being a blues musican myself, is actually rather good.

To answer some of the usual critics, you're right - there are some very oasis-like songs on there. I suggest you listen to more than the first 3 songs, because after Elanor (track 4), the album takes a dramatic two-wheeled turn off Pop Highway 101 and spends the rest of the journey on the backroads.

If you like Jet, you'll not be disappointed - There is enough of their simple yet catchy songwriting there to ensure you'll love it, but enough of a difference to ensure you'll not get bored.

Summary: This album, like the first, will not disappoint. You'll probably never eject it.
