Rating:
Three years on Filter finally return with their third album after the break through success of 'Title of Record'. In many ways this is Filter's 'post' album. Post commercial success: 'Take a Picture' was a massive radio hit stateside and even made the top thirty over here and the album went platinum worldwide. Post 'The Fragile': 'Title of record' preceded the last Nine Inch Nails studio album by a good few months and in retrospect served to demonstrate the former acolyte, Richard Patrick, had defeated the master at his own game. Trent Reznor's last studio record was a bloated struggle to regain lost form; weighed down my ...

Rating:
will Lead You both scream filler, nothing terribly wrong with them par se but in context of some of the excellent material here they sound more average then they might have done elsewhere. ‘Title of Record’ is such impressive step forward for Filter , at times one can hardly believe this is the same band that recorded their scrappy debut. Blow My Fuse - Kix
Fun lyrics, good guitar solos and riffs
Overproduced, too many effects and a bit cheesy
Native Norwegian Art - Einherjer
Unique take on Viking metal.
Overproduced and repetitive.
Dopethrone - Electric Wizard
The ultimate stoner doom experience.
Perhaps too much reliance on studio trickery and amplifier effects to achieve atmosphere.
Electric Wizard - Electric Wizard
Modern take on the classic doom sound.
Few songs really stand out.
Let Us Prey - Electric Wizard
A little more accessible.
This also means it's less definitive.
Griefshire - Elis
Creative gothic metal.
Still relies on all the genre clichés.
Supercoven - Electric Wizard
Extreme stoner doom for the seriously stoned.
Alienating.
Witchcult Today - Electric Wizard
Mind-meltingly heavy revival of early doom and psychedelic rock.
Owes its sound to the past.
Come My Fanatics - Electric Wizard
Defines the modern doom sound, effective use of feedback techniques.
A little lacking instrumentally.
Ix Equilibrium - Emperor
Original sound.
Experiment isn't entirely successful.
