Advantages: Excellent tracks to jump up and down to, and cracking ballads to boot.

Disadvantages: Released too many singles from it.

I bought this after I had heard Sunburn, and I have to say on the first few times I listened to it that I wasn't impressed. I liked the faster, rockier tracks but the slower ones seemed a bit overblown to me, and I put it away and didn't listen to it again.

When "Unintended" came out I thought it was only fair that I gave it another go, and I'm very glad that I did, as I'd be missing a lot if I did. I still prefer the more up-tempo numbers, but the slow ones are great to.

My highlights of the album would be "Muscle Museum", "Sunburn" and "Cave". They are really rocky, driven tracks with a great bass and some fantastic guitar playing. it is clear on these tracks where the comparisons with Radiohead have been drawn. They are quite similar to "The Bends" era of Radiohead, but they are sufficiently different to my ear.

"Unintended" is a beautiful song, and provides a nice break to all the fast stuff going on,. giving you a chnace to collect your thoughts before another onslaught. Muse capture the balance between rocking and ballads perfectly on this album.

The only downside is that they keep re-releasing tracks from it. Now its time to get your finger out and record some new songs guys.
