Fear Of Fours - Lamb
by bumb1e - written on 11/11/01 (Somewhat useful, 134 readings)
Rating:
I first heard of Lamb in ninety-six when they released their debut album, I then didn’t hear much about them until they released their second album; Fear of fours . Lamb may not be the average top of the pops teen-band. But they are certainly very talented. Lamb have most certainly lived up to their first album, by combining traditional instruments (double basses, pianos, toms, acoustic guitars, and saxaphones) with more modern instruments, like drum machines, decs, and keyboardswith this album, their second album, the lead singer of this band is a female artist, with a soft but powerful, beautiful voice, the sort of voice that engulfs you. The music is a ...

Rating:
a large rise in floppy monkey turd like UK Garage taking an unfair share of HiFis around the country and are in danger of seeing drum’n’bass becoming dry and irrelevant. Lamb have resurrected soul in a streamlined modernisation for this album and mixed it with a drum and bass that is warm, melancholy and accessible without losing any respectability. These guys are now the proud parents of 2 more albums both of which supply that soul nourishing sound that everyone needs, but neither reaches the pinnacle of this first effort. One of the few downsides of lamb are that one their label, Fontana; they are stabled with James and The Cocteau Twins. Aaaarrgh! ...

Rating:
make copies in case my original is ruined. I in no way condone the practise of sharing music with programs like napster, as this takes the money the bands like Lamb well nigh deserve, though I couldn’t agree more with fighting their labels to get the bands a better profit. Anyway, when I ripped my CD, I found that Feela was 17 minutes long. It pauses and is silent for about 1 minute 5-6 minutes in, and then a slightly similar track fades in. This one has more instruments and is noticeably faster paced than feela. I feel it has aspects of some of the other tracks in the album in it as well; it’s quite nice to listen to! I hope that this review has helped ...
