Advantages: Some classic tunes

Disadvantages: Still some dumb songs

Few will dispute that Limp Bizkit are a bloody daft band, but they did actually have one album that found considerable critical acclaim, before their long and harsh fall following it. This is that album, their second, released after the mildly successful 3 Dollar Bill Y'all. They have recieved divisive criticism for melding the rock and rap genres, considering lead singer Fred Durst doesn't really seem to have too much of a rhythm for this sort of thing, has an irritatingly high pitched voice, and the lyrics themselves often aren't up to much cop. However, this is without a doubt the definitive Bizkit album.

Nookie is one of the best tracks on the album - it was a big hit upon release, with the lyrics primarily professing "I did it all for the nookie, so you can take that cookie, and shove it up your...!". Inventive and obviously very clever, there...Nevertheless, this is something of a band staple despite, or perhaps because of, its sheer inanity.

The real signature of the album, though, is Break Stuff, something that they ALWAYS play live, and it's the perfect song to get the crowd riled up. It's also played a lot at rock and metal clubs to instigate a mosh pit. It's an incredibly aggressive song but it really works towards the strengths of the band.

Re-Arranged is my favourite song, though, and it's a shame they don't play it more on tour and it's not more recognised. It's a lot more relaxed and actually has something useful to say unlike most Bizkit songs - it also has a superb music video. Possibly their most intelligent song.

N 2 Gether Now is the other famous track - it pairs Durst with Method Man, and actually has pretty good lyrics, and of course Method Man is a very good rapper. It's a different tone to the rest of the album, and leans far more towards the rap end of the spectrum than rock, but it works.

This is Limp Bizkit's best album with a really great selection of tracks.

Summary: A catchy and fun effort
