This is the latest offering from Feeder and although it has had mixed reviews I think overall it is a very good album. It would never have the raw edge of Swim but what it does have is the sound of a band maturing and writing music to compare with the likes of U2 and Coldplay (in my opinion much better than the aformentioned bands!). The album begins with a bang with We Are the People and the energy doesn't let up as you are treated to more musical energy with Itsumo, the resounding guitar of Miss You and the fast beat of Tracing Lines. Ok so I'm a huge Feeder fan, Ive been to see them three times in the past month and each time, queued up since the early morning just to get the the front row. So as you can probably guess I love this album. The album starts with 'We are the People' which is also the first single form the album. The song is described as being an 'uplifting anthem' which I think perfectly describes it. Its the perfect song to start off this album packed full of catchy and uplifting anthems. The album soon begins to remind you of the epic albums 'Echo Park' and 'Yesterday Went To Soon', switching between atmosphere, some tracks being heavier than others, showing us ... ---Background:--- Silent Cry is Welsh band Feeder's long-awaited album; following the hugely successful 2005 release "Pushing the Senses", which received mixed critical responses. The Guardian described the album as a "kind of emotional aural soup that will baffle the spikier members of their original punky fan base", whereas Q Magazine thought that the album would "Finally establish Feeder as major league players". I think the latter was definitely the more accurate review - as the album ended up at number 2 in the album charts; bettered only by Athlete's "Tourist".
