Another music review, yay? Now in much need of money after blowing it all on betfair (see my review as to why (yeah I'm a whore review)) I went back to looking through my mums CD's and after seeing the "Kids" video Robbie did with Kylie on TV (some Channel 4 thing about "If you love Kylie...you'll love this") I thought this would be the ideal album to start today with. SING WHEN YOU'RE WINNING is the title of the album by Robbie Williams. The album contains 12 tracks which I will review. The opening track LET LOVE BE YOUR ENERGY is a gentle song that has a really uplifting chorus. The lyrics are heartwarming though the song goes off point towards the end. BETTER MAN is a slow song where William's vocals actually sound quite good. Once more the lyrics are good as is the acoustic guitar with a good chorus. ROCK DJ is more of a rap song that is very fast paced. Robbie Williams is probably Britain's one of top pop stars, although maybe not at the moment. Having waved Take That goodbye some time ago it seems light years away that he was just a band member under the supposed leader and most talented one Gary Barlow. Whilst Gary Barlow is now about as exciting as Ken Barlow it seems Robbie can do no wrong. 'Sing When You're Winning has a good mix of strong rock tunes mixed with some quieter acoustic material. As with the previous albums Guy Chambers exerts a huge inluence with a lot of the writing/production/instrument playing credits. I am admittedly, a huge fan of Robbie Williams, so while I will try to remain unbiased when reviewing this CD, I will warn you now that I will probably fail miserably, and this will end up being the most one sided piece of writing you have ever come across, so apologies in advance, because the man can not put a foot wrong in my humble opinion!!!!! LET LOVE BE YOUR ENERGY is the perfect opening track, it is mellow enough to ease you gently into the music, but there are moments when the song is like an anthem, and it fills you with anticipation of what is to follow. Sing When You're Winning, Robbie's third hit album and hit it certainly is! With even more development and improvement in his style, can anything stop Rob from achieving world domination? I think not! Rob kicks off the masterpiece with "Let Love Be Your Energy", it's a decent song but lets face it, it's not really anything special. Despite this, it is bursting with energy and makes you want to listen on.
