... addictive track. Not bad at all. "Comedown" is absolutely great, on the other hand. This has been remixed several times by different artists, and is a sombre and powerful track, almost gentle at first, but when it gets going, it's addictive and almost epic in content. The remixes available of this track are mostly all superb, and I almost guarantee you'll like this one. The chorus is utter class. "Body" starts with an interesting solo guitar prelude, before Gavin's slightly growly vocal and t...more

Premium Review Sixteen Stone - Bush: Is Everything Zen? (737 words)
by - written on 09/04/01 (Very useful, 71 readings)
Rating:

Hailing back to 1994, this early effort from Bush shows us, going back to their roots, what a quality and together band they really are. Similar in sound to both "The Science of Things" and "Razorblade Suitcase" this particular CD is full of catchy, addictive tunes packed with good aural ideas. The album opens with class, with "Everything Zen". Having received no end of airplay, which has obviously done wonders for its popularity, this is a addictive, well constructed and likeable number. Quite rightly too, a lot of people have good things to say about this track. The next track "Swim" is a typical, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Everything Bush (145 words)

This album includes great songs from Everything Zen to Little Things. This was the first album released by Bush and In my opinion is great. This album is a complete contrast to some of the more recent Bush songs such as "Letting The Cables Sleep" and "40 Miles from the Sun", on 16 Stone the songs are all very good with some excellent lyrics. As normal the inside booklet contains all the lyrics for the songs and a few pictures of the Band. The only Item I believe they needed on this album was extra Pictures of the Band or an Interactive section, however as this album was released in 1993 that wouldn't have been possible. Although ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sixteen Stone - Bush: ~Seriously Updated~ (564 words)

Although a British band, Bush have been far more successful in the US than over here in the UK. Why this is, is a mystery to me as they are one of the best rock/grunge offerings we have to offer. The band are comprised of Gavin Rossdale (guitar, vocals and lyrics), Nigel Pulsford (lead Guitar), Dave Parsons (bass), Robin Goodridge (drums). They hail from Shephards Bush, London and formed the band in 1992. To begin with Gavin and Nigel met in a London club and soon realised that they had common musical interests in such diverse artists as Pixies, Bob Marley, Jesus Lizard, MC5, Husker Du, and Big Black. From this common love, they decided to form a band and soon ...  Read the complete review

I first heard Bush about four years ago (like most people from the song Swallowed), I thought that this song was fantastic when i heard it on the radio(I was young and inexperienced ok) but i didn't bother to delve any deeper into the world of bush until early 1999 when i bought "The Science of things". This album was fantastic but I stopped listening to it for some reason, mainly because I started listening to Metallica after getting over the whole Nirvana syndrome that every one seems to go through. But any way, I actually began to listen to it again recently and some of the people that Ive become friends with over the last few months ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sixteen Stone - Bush: Little things, big album (106 words)

The first album. The one with the biggest Bush tracks? If you've only heard a few songs by Bush, this is the album to go for. Before I got into them, this was my first taste. Most people have heard Little things and Everything Zen. Well the rest is just as good! A mix of epic rock tracks, the haunting Glycerine and the epic, emotion of Comedown, 16... is a classic. I like my sounds heavy or bouncy, and this has both in abundance. If you wanted to pick up some Bush, buy this first then try the others. ...  Read the complete review
