I have been a fan of the Foo Fighters for many years now, and was eager to get my hands on their live album 'Skin and Bones'. The band were formed by Dave Grohl, the former drummer for Nirvana, in 1995. However, Grohl is the lead singer and guitar maestro for the Foo Fighters, and the drumming seat is taken by Taylor Hawkins, the former tour drummer for Alanis Morrisette. 'Skin and Bones' was released in November 2006, and is the band's first live performance CD, featuring tracks performed on their 3 day tour of the same year. It features hits such as 'Next Year', 'My Hero' and 'Times Like These'. It also features a revamped lineup solely for the tour/album, ... Read the complete review

Skin and Bones is the latest live acoustic albulm from the Foo Fighters who are one of the most popluar bands in the world. I have personally seen them live and they are great and propably the best live band that i have seen. This latest albulm is prbably one of their best as it has many of their best known songs on live from various gig's that they have done over the last few years. For anyone who doesn't know the Foo Fighters they are an American rock band formed by musician Dave Grohl in 1995. The group is named after the World War II term "foo fighter", used to refer to mysterious aerial phenomena. Grohl originally was the drummer in Nirvana but ... Read the complete review

'Skin and Bones' is a live album released by the Foo Fighters in November 2006 through RCA Records. It's a completely acoustic live album and the music included here was recorded at Pantages Theate, Los Angeles in August 2006. Fifteen tracks feature here, and if you're one for acoustic versions of tracks then this is most definitely an excellent album to listen to. As well as the bands standard four-piece line-up; four extra members feature here providing the bands standard sound with the added extra of harmonica, keyboard, percussion, and violin. 'Skin and Bones' is quite an interesting album in that it lets you hear some of the bands finest tracks from ... Read the complete review

It is often seen as the easy way out for a band to release a live album. After all they are meant to be playing live anyway so recording it and releasing it is almost viewed as cheating. I personally don’t subscribe to this theory and I quite like live albums, especially like this one, the latest release by the Foo Fighters. This collection of classic Foo Fighters tracks was recorded in an acoustic environment at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. It is something I’ve always wanted to hear from the band as they have always struck me as a band who would sound amazing in this sort of setting. This album isn’t just Dave Grohl with his guitar sat in front of an ... Read the complete review

I have long since been a foo fighters fan, and love their rough, edgy sound. Crunching guitar, with powerful rythem are order of the day. That combined with one of the best, grittiest voices in the genre. Of course i mean dave grohl, of ex nirvana fame. I saw this album on sale for the rediculously cheap price of £6. At first i was wary, as many bands that have tried to convert their music to acoustic only, have failed miserably. That said, i bought it, hoping that the foo's could recreate one of the best live albums of all time - Nirvana, unplugged in new york. After all. two of the foo's were part of that tour by nirvana. I must admit, that ... Read the complete review
