Anyway basically this album sounds like Blackmore produced it and had the final say so on a lot of the musical input, Glover was used to working with him like this in Rainbow and maybe that's why it happened but whatever the reason it's there all the same. Warning: When I say 'Purple' I mean Deep Purple and all derivatives are similar. Sorry, mpeh. Blackmore's been off with Rainbow, finally accepted to put Purple back together again. Gillan does one album and then storms out (because of Blackmore) and Blacmore then promptly brings in the vocalist he was last working with in Rainbow- Joe Lynn Turner. The impact is audible- the influence is incredible. This album is the least purplish album they ever did I think. In that sense it's the most Blackmore.
