Advantages: QUALITY VOCALS

Disadvantages: NO MEMORABLE SONGS

SLIPWAY FIRES is the title of British indie rock band RAZORLIGHT's album.
The album consists of 12 tracks.

The opening song WIRE TO WIRE is a powerful song with impressive vocals that are aided by wonderful instrumental support and positive lyrics.

HOSTAGE OF LOVE is a fast paced track which accompanies quick melodies that are supported by the vocals. The chorus is one you can sing along with.

YOU AND THE REST is a fun song with lyrics that tell a good story. The energy from the guitar is particulalry evident in adding an edge to the song.

TABLOID LOVER is my favourite song on the album with it's great energy and clever lyrics. The guitar work brings the song to life while the melodies just flow along.

NORTH LONDON TRASH is an aggressive song that while sounds good isn't very uplifting.

60 THOMPSON confused me in the lyrical department, but vocally it was immense and came to life at the chorus with an uplifting message.

STINGER is another fast paced song with a great rhythm that has you tapping your toes while the chorus is energetic.

BURBERRY BLUE EYES is quite a mellow tune where the vocals are smooth and has a relaxing feel to it which hs a positive message.

BLOOD FOR WILD BLOOD flies by with it's constant vigour from the guitar and the fast paced chorus.

MONSTER BOOTS is a fun song though lacked passion of other tunes.

THE HOUSE gets better each time you hear it as it starts slow but builds to an impressive chorus.

The last track on the album is WEBLINK which showcases the group's talents of good vocals and excellent instrumental work.

Overall, RAZORLIGHT are a talented band. The consistency of each song was impressive although there were no classics. Most songs had an uplifting effect. The fast paced songs were as good as the slow ballads. The vocals from Borrell were fantastic as usual and his support on the instruments excelled.

Avaliable from AMAZON at £6.68 RAZORLIGHT are beginning to light the way in indie music.
