Rating:
Some of them were dreamers some of them were fools, some of them knew pleasure some of them knew pain. Let the music keep your spirits high. So sings Christy Moore in the first track Deluge on the CD King Puck that I am listening to. This album was released in 1993.You can buy it for about £12.00 If you are listening to this with me do not expect a cheerful CD with really happy cheerful notes. Christy Moore playing guitar, bohdrum and vocals is accompanied by Jimmy Faulkner - guitars Roger Askew - organ & piano Neil Mc Coll - guitar & mandolin Maire Breathnac - fiddle & viola Pat Crowley - accordion Chris Corrigan - fiddle. Christys voice is gravely ...

brushes with the British law that would seem discriminatory, on one occasion, entering Britain he was held under the anti-terrorism act and questioned over the content of his songs. Christy Moore is one of the best known musicians in Ireland and has been given the accolade of being the greatest musician alive by RTE (Irish Broadcasting Association), he has also come in from the cold by presenting on Desert Island Discs. Anyway, on to the music, which is why I am writing the review. ~~~The Tracks~~~ 1. The City of Chicago This song is basically about the mass migration of Irish in the 1870 s to America, ostensibly because of the potato famine (which was in part ...

As I sit here at the computer while I listen to Christy Moore singing on CD I was inspired to write. I am listening to ride on, it's making me feel wistful a little sad but also cheerful, it is a mixture of emotions. Christy sings some beautiful songs Love songs, love for his woman, love of his country, about war and strife. Some bring a tear to the eye another a smile to the lips. Here I am sat here singing along Ooh listoonvarna, listdoonvarna everyone needs a break climb a mountain swim in the lake Sean Doherty goes down for the rose of Tralee But I like my music in the open air (so do I Christy) I saw heard Christy at Cambridge folk festival ...

The Shadow's Madame - Cadaveria
Frank Booth's catchy guitars keep things entertaining.
Cadaveria's vocals aren't exactly phenomenal.
Seventh Coming - Cathedral
More accessible.
Repetitive.
Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious - Carcass
Perfect fusion of Carcass' two eras, with excellent and ferocious musicianship.
Longer songs may deter some.
Memphis May Fire - Memphis May Fire
Some decent Post-Hardcore music with elements of rock thrown in for good measure.
Quite generic in sound, provides nothing particularly new to offer to the genre.
Heartwork - Carcass
Pioneering work of melodic death metal.
Disappointingly commercial after previous efforts.
Graceful...yet Forbidding - Callenish Circle
Excellent guitar performance.
Otherwise standard melodic death metal fare.
From The 13th Sun - Candlemass
A very different sound with great use of effects.
This is... this is just Black Sabbath, isn't it? But ever-so-slightly rearranged?
Far Away From Conformity - Cadaveria
Cadaveria can sing!
Frank Booth has run out of ideas.
King Of The Grey Islands - Candlemass
Still on top form, the band's finest album since the eighties.
Prevalence of filler material.
Candlemass - Candlemass
Reunion and return to form.
Tries too hard to please the fans.
