      Very helpful

      Comical and catchy

Snuff Rock is a compilation by an absolutely superb comedy, spoof rock act Alberto Y Los Trios Paranoias, there's also an EP called Snuff Rock which was the original release, so it would be easy to confuse the two!

This album is a must have, it has just about all the work of a very under-rated band who don't take themselves seriously and parody many bands of the era (70s) from Anadin (Lou Read) through to a mixture of punkish records where the singer takes great influence in his style from John Lydon and does a magnificent job of making himself well heard and relatively clear whilst maintaining a snarly and aggressive sneery sort of sound!

The lyrics usually mirror the lyrics of the bands they parody and therefore often refer to death, boredom, the dole and council estates and whilst the subjects are generally grim, the lyrics are written in a comical manner, the band play quickly and can switch with ease from glam rock (Status Quo) to an early punk style to a reggae one (as show on Snuffin' In a Babylon). On top of this there are also a couple of tracks of a psychedelic nature adding real variety!

These guys had great lyrics and great musical ability and there isn't a song on the album that isn't either catchy or humorous, it was an album that I wasn't aware of until recently but it has quickly become a firm favourite and I would say it's worth every cent. If you think comedy rock is crap (it usually is!) then give these guys ago and listen to the exception!
