The Rhode Island-raised R&B singer Blu Cantrell released "So Blu" as her debut album back in 2001. Female RnB singer-songwriters aren't exactly scarce at the moment, and you could say that it's sometimes hard to see the wood for the trees. If that is the case, 'So Blu', the debut from 25 year old American Blu Cantrell is most definitely low-grade chipboard rather than polished mahogany. I decided to buy the album on the strength of the Charleston driven 'Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!)' which was a Top 20 hit in 2001.
