Advantages: Good three minute pop/punk/rock songs.

Disadvantages: Too samey for many.

After listening to All Time Low's new release 'Nothing Personal', I was encouraged to come back to this album to try and remember why I was looking forward to listening to the new release. 'So Wrong, Its Right' is much better than 'Nothing Personal' in the fact that the songs don't feel as if they are trying too hard to push a genre that has reached its creative limit.

The first time I listened to this album, I will admit that I didn't think it was anything to write about, but after repeated listens, the songs grew and I gave in to their hooks. The opening tracks 'This is How We Do' and 'Let it Roll' are exactly what pop-punk should be and offer catchy choruses backed up by simple chord structures. It is perfect feel-good summer music (although some people will see it as a sugar-coated pop band), undemanding with no hidden messages, and what you hear on the surface is exactly what the song means.

Singles 'Dear Maria, Count Me In' and 'Poppin' Champagne' were decent choices and got the band plenty of mainstream attention and spots on shows such as Give It a Name in the UK. Although they came along at the same time as several pop-punk bands from the US, All Time Low had a charm that made them endearing and worthy of a listen.

'Remembering Sunday' is a somewhat token acoustic song in an attempt to break up the standard pop-punk march. It is not particularly necessary in proceedings, but there have been much worse acoustic songs than this made in the past.

The songs have enough punch about them to consider them suitable to be put into the 'rock' bracket, but it is their unashamed pop hooks that make the songs memorable. All Time Low's sound is evident of a young band, and it will be interesting to see how long they continue to produce albums in this vein. People will probably argue that there are already too many pop-punk bands cluttering up the genre, but the thing that makes it worthwhile is separating the good ones from the bad ones.

With 'So Wrong, Its Right', All Time Low placed themselves firmly in the 'good category'.

Summary: Good album setting a platform to produce a solid follow-up album.
