Eurovision Song Contest 2008

Premium Review Eurovision Anyone? (350 words)
by benlepensive - written on 14/08/09 (Very useful, 13 readings)
Rating:

You either love or hate Eurovision and I am proud to say that I take a small amount of pleasure in it each year. My friends throw Eurovision parties and dress up as different countries, on the night of the competition. This two disc compilation collects all the entrants from the 2008 year. Gisela's 'Casanova' is cheerful and upbeat, if not heavy on the cheese. Her girly vocals are a delight though and it is a promising start to the album. No Angels are big buisness in Germany and their song 'Disappear' could not have had a more apt title. It is unmemorable and weak in melody. Clubland 7

Premium Review One Is Having A Large One (385 words)
by benlepensive - written on 13/08/09 (Very useful, 26 readings)
Rating:

More banging dance tunes to pound the eardrums and send you into a frenzy. The clubland albums have been a huge success in this country. I believe that they are now at volume 4,567. Well, perhaps not quite, but the rate they release them is incredible. Two discs of ferocious tracks, kicking off with a decent reworking of 'Nasty Girl' from Inaya Day. Riff and Rays do it justice with a trancey pop slant, keeping her sultry vocals at the forefront of the mix. I rather enjoyed the new version of 'Fading Like A Flower' which has a rip roaring riff and powerful vocals, though not by Marie from Roxette on this cover. Stalwarts Ultrabeat do 'Feel It With Me.' It is not as ...
