It's a sign of a truly great album when you love every song and the CD stands up to constant repetition. I defy anyone to listen to Social Vertigo by 3 Daft Monkeys and not find themselves toe tapping before a bit of full blown dancing! This CD is beautifully orchestrated with influences ranging from Jewish to Salsa with heartfelt and thoughtful lyrics. The CD opens with the stonking Paranoid Big Brother which is a humorous appraisal of the CCTV cameras in society. The pace doesn't let up with the 100mph Eyes of Gaia which really lets fiddler Athene Roberts show just how talented she is. 3 Daft monkeys are a folk group who from Cornwall who play "European Celtic folk music" There are 3 people in the band, playing bass, fiddle, foot drum, guitar, whistle and vocals. The music sounds very Spanish, but has a lot of traditional sounding folk tunes mixed in as well. This is their 5th CD. Products similar to Social Vertigo - 3 Daft Monkey...
The Secret Language Of Birds - Ian Anderson
Pleasant enough modern folk, without the jig element.
Birdwatchers may be disappointed.
Reptile Ride - Amoral
Competent melodic death metal without the rubbish bits.
Rather bland all the same.
Pristine In Bondage - Amaran
Powerful, good ol' fashioned metal. With a woman.
Occasionally uninspired.
Of Lucifer & Lightning - Angelcorpse
Solid death metal.
Uninspired.
Olias Of Sunhillow - Jon Anderson
Great new age keyboards and pleasant vocals.
Quite dull on the longer offerings.
Night Attack - Angels
Classic melodic hard rock, with a slight experimental edge.
Mostly similar to the rest of the hard rock host.
Hell Is Empty All The Devils Are Here - Anaal Nathrakh
Devastating, with excellent vocals.
Lacks the intriguing diversity and experiments of the band's previous works.
Devour, Rise And Take Flight - Android Lust
Nice vocals, and some interesting electronic touches.
The best songs steal from Nine Inch Nails, and the worst are just dull.
Det Glemte Riket - Ancient
Cost-effective way of owning previously rare material.
Original material is a bit disappointing.
Phallus Dei - Amon Duul
Fun, wild, psychedelic early krautrock.
Loose but repetitive structure makes it seem amateurish, and not all experiments are successful.
