Advantages: Very unique and heartfelt

Disadvantages: none

How do you define an album like this? The subject matter is death and cancer and hope. Their is an orchestra plugging away in the background, although they sound tinny and synthesized, although this is intentional. The drums are distorted to the point where they could be heavy cardboard boxes. It's the umpteenth Flaming Lips album, and the one where they finally come of age.

The tunes are glorious and complex. In most cases they eschew simplicity and offer you several different takes on the same tune within one song, and that's in the tunes where the tune doesn't change ten times over to become a rock opera in itself (The Spark That Bled)

At times large and orchestral (Race For the Prize) at times something far, far beyond that (The Gash)

Waiting for Superman is one of the most heartfelt songs ever

Probably the best album in the world, ever

Summary: Probably the best album in the world, ever
