Some Cities - Doves

Doves' album Some Cities is by a three man pop rock band from Salford The album contains eleven tracks varying from indie rock to ballads. SOME CITIES opens the album with a great look at their lifes in Salford. Fantastic lyrics in this song and a good opener. BLACK AND WHITE TOWN is a more fast paced track with a lot of energy. The lyrics once more reflect on their home life. Good vocals support the music. ALMOST FORGOT MYSELF is a slower song with a really good guitar beat combined with the fantastic vocals. I’d wanted to try some material by the Doves for ages when I recently stumbled upon an offer I just couldn’t refuse at Tesco, I finally took the plunge and purchased “Some Cities”. I’d taken the advice of a good friend and prominent Dooyoo writer at last in doing so. “Some Cities” is the follow up to “The Last Broadcast” released on Capitol/Heavenly records.
