Advantages: All brilliant songs

Disadvantages: None at all

Kristian Leontiou possibly isn't very well known, i know that a lot of people i have tried to talk to about him actually haven't even heard of him! Ok, so a little bit about him, Kristian Leontiou is an English singer (although i always thought he was American!!), he was born in 1982 and grew up in Harrow. His debut single "Story Of My Life" , which as soon as i heard it i absolutely loved, was released in June 2004 and reached the top ten. Sadly, his second single "Shining" didn't do quite as well, peaking at number 13, which really was a shame as it is a really well written song just like the first. After he finished this album that Kristian decided he wasn't happy with the direction his career was going so he decided to make changes, and it was then that he formed One eskimO which are a pretty unknown indie rock group. Also he has collaborated with Faithless. In 2006 he releaseed a cover of the Tracy Chapman classic, Fast Car, and this is just a brilliant version and i feel that it tops the original which doesn't happen very often!

I think the album Some Day Soon is definately one of my all time favourites, it is easy listening and i personally think Kristian has the most amazing voice, only maybe to be topped by Gary Barlow in my opinion.

Listed are the tracks and my interpretation of the songs and a line of lyrics which i love in the songs too:

Tracks:
1. Story Of My Life
This one is about trying to move on in life and find somewhere to leave all the memories in the back of the mind before we die - sounds quite morbid but its brilliantly written and is a lovely song. "So now I try to find, a place to leave all Memories in my mind, We try, our lives away
Then stumble into the grave"

2. Shining
I think this is about a relationship ending and him saying that it was too soon as she hasn't yet seen him at his best. "I will not be beaten
You have yet to see me shining, shining, I wont take this lying down"

3. The Years Move On
"So the years will move on, i'll never love the way i loved you" Some of my favourite lyrics, this song is about being treated badly and trying to move on.

4. Love Is All I Need
I think this song is about him trying with his lover, and telling them that love is all he needs. "I'm holding onto you, trying all the time"

5. It's OK
My interpretation of this song is about someone fearing for things in their life, and him trying to say that there is nothing to fear as he is there to protect her. "It's OK, It's OK Don't fear, I'm here with you"

6. The Crying
This song baffles me a little, there are so many different meanings to this song, and i think i find a different one each time i hear it "Now its all over, its all over with the crying....Now its all over, I'm stone-cold sober
And I'm trying"

7. Some Say
I think this song is about someone trying to find their way in life, and about becoming free. "Some say, the road is clear, Some say, confront your fears"

8. Caught In The Moment
This song is about being caught in the moment with someone, and being that someone to look after and protect you. "Finally awake, Caught in the moment.......I can take away your tears, hold on to me"

9. Fall And I Will Catch You
To me, this song is about looking after your best friend when they are in trouble. "Dont you cry please dont cry im your best friend, dont be sad dont look back im here for you"

10. Sometimes I Wonder.
I think this one is all about wondering about the lover, and wondering if time is being wasted in wanting and loving them. "Before I fall, and lose it all, will I run or will i crawl, and take it all....Sometimes I wonder"

11. Hanging
All about hanging around and biding your time, waiting for your lover to come home. "Breathing in breathing out,I can sit and watch for hours"

I can't really choose a definate favourite on the album as they are all really good songs. I think the album is amazing and if you haven't heard it then i would definately advise you to give it a listen.

His style of music is very soulful, and some of the lyrics in his songs are hauntingly beautiful, he writes some brilliantly emotional songs and many of his songs can appear to be about one thing but are actually meant as something else entirely. The album is put into the pop category which i don't really agree with as they are soulful ballads rather than pop music.

I think it would be a great album to listen to when maybe having a romantic meal with that special someone as it is that kind of tone in his singing.

You can pick this up now for around £5 or £6 which is a bargain i think! Can't recommend it enough!

Summary: Just love it!
