Advantages: Easy listening!, Lots of tracks!
Disadvantages: Bit on the girly side maybe
It was after seeing Alicia Keys' performance at this years VMA's that she first caught my eye. There she was - 19 years old and up on that stage playing the piano and singing a beautiful song, which later I found out was called "Fallin'" and would go to No.3 in the British charts. Alicia Keys. She's pretty new over here, but already taking us by storm. She was amazing on 'Later with Jools Holland'. You'll be sorry you missed it. Her debut album 'Songs in A Minor' reached No.1 in the US charts, and it is one of the best albums I have bought in ages. It is beautiful and every song is very different. She covers Prince's 'How come you don't call me' - one of my favourite tracks -and there's also a duet with Jimmy Cozier called 'Mr. Man' - it's just the sexiest song you have ever heard! There are also softer, sadder tracks like 'Caged Bird' and 'Why Do I Feel So Sad'. True, it took me quite a few listens to get into it - maybe because it is quite long (16 tracks), but I couldn't live with out it now! Alicia's voice is amazing, and what's more, she plays on virtually every track (Piano) and is simply brilliant! I would say that girls would probably like and appreciate her music more than guys, but no-one out there will be disappointed! She is a stunning, stunning performer and one of the most talented young artists around.
