Advantages: great sound, she has talent

Alicia Keys a talented US female solo singer. Songs In A Minor is her debut album. I first heard of this girl in America this year when she got to the top of the charts with her debut single 'Fallin' it was played there all of the time so when I heard her back in the UK I had to buy the album to hear it. I would describe the album as relaxing with a smooth sound. Alicia named her album Songs In A Minor because she says this is her favourite key to play.

The track listing to A Minor is below also with my opinion on every song.

1.Piano & I-This is an intro with Alicia talking and turning a famous symphony into a song. This is actually quite effective and a nice way to start the album off.

2.Girlfriend-This song is played at the start of the video for 'Fallin' if you listen carefully you will see what I mean. This is a good song it has a nice sound to it, obviously the fact Alicia has an amazing voice helps this.

3.How Come You Don't Call Me-This has a nice piano tune in the background and is a very nice ballad with a good beat This is a relaxing song.

4.Fallin'-This is her debut single, I love this song it shows off her voice very well and is a lovely love song. The piano in the background place a nice melody to fit the song.

5.Troubles-This isnt a favourite of mine but is a relaxing tune. I could listen to it if I was doing something but wouldn't automatically skip songs to hear it.

6.Rock Wit U- I really like the music to this. The singing takes a while to start but once it does it sounds really good. This is a very long song but goes by very quick and it's really good.

7.A Woman's Worth-This is supposedly the next song to be released from this album. It's Alicia's favourite song ever and I personally wouldn't agree but I think it's a lovely song. This is a song I would call a love song and it is has a beautiful sound.

8.Jane Doe-Thi
s has a nice piano melody in the background and is quite good. It isn't a personal favourite of mine but it's ok I suppose.

9.Goodbye-This is a very slow song, not that great but it's ok. I would have to be in a certain mood to sit through a song like this. It has a good beat.

10.The Life-This is a really good song I love the beat in this song especially at the start. This is one of my favourties of the album and I really like it!

11.Mr Man-This is a duet sung with Jimmy Cozier, it is strongly song and it's a nice duet. It's a repetitive beat and quite easy listening.

12.Never Felt This Way-This is an interlude, it's just a melody on the piano with some singing. It's a relaxing interview and very peaceful sounding.

13.Butterflyz-This is an ok song but it isn't that great. The tune is quite good but a bit too repetitive for my liking. I like ballads but this is too slow.

14.Why Do I Feel So Sad-This is more singing than the piano. The beat is ok to this but it isn't a song I could say I really liked to sit and listen to.

15.Caged Bird-This is a nice tune to end off the album with a nice melody in the background. This is quite a nice beat and just a perfect rhythm.

I think for a 19/20 year old this album has a very mature sound and I would be proud to produce something this good at her age. I think this album is mostly full of love songs so I don't know if it's an album for men or women it really depends on your music style.

Summary:
