I would discribe him as slightly more downbeat than Jack Johnson too but his voice is still charming and you'll find yourself humming along to the words in no time. His website allows you to listen to songs from this and his new album (www.mattcosta.com) along with lyrics so I would recommend people take the time to listen. From this album especially, the standout tracks for me are cold december, astair,...more

I first saw him support Jack Johnson in London in 2006 and I had already heard a few songs from him due to him being signed to Jack's Brushfire record label, although this was originally an independant release it is his first studio album as it was re-released a year later. I would consider him more folky than Jack Johnson but ultimately if your a fan of one in my opinion you will enjoy the other. We're Going To Hell For This - Carpathian Forest
Honest and well-chosen retrospective. Live show is less enjoyable, due to repetitive style.

The Mix-up - Beastie Boys
Could be used as background music. No musical ability whatsoever is displayed here, the album is despicably tedious.

The Mechanical Hand - Horse The Band
Some strong keyboard sounds at times created here, the lyrics are pretty good. The album is poorly structured, the music created here often sounds a mess.

Strange Old Brew - Carpathian Forest
Boldly and enjoyably experimental, while making plenty of time more for primal fun. Tries patience at times.

Skjend Hans Lik - Carpathian Forest
Remastered demo is a nice present to the fans. Bulked out by worthlessly inferior material.

Ribbed Music For The Numb Generation - Soho Dolls
Album contains a number of excellent highly sexed dirty electro anthems. It's not perfect, there is most certainly room for improvement.

R Borlax - Horse The Band
The music is great fun to listen to, excellent use of lyrics is made here. If you don't like hardcore shouted vocals then you won't like this.

Morbid Fascination Of Death - Carpathian Forest
Experimental touches remain, despite dwindling. Too many songs sound the same.

Dial-a-song: 20 Years Of They Might Be Giants - They Might Be Giants
Generally excellent music, lovingly packaged Some key tracks missing

Defending The Throne Of Evil - Carpathian Forest
Great riffs and songs, atmospheric, tongue-in-cheek and entertaining None
