For those who are looking for ground breaking music, then this is not the album for you. If, like me you have followed Chris de Burgh from when he first broke onto the scene with albums like Crusader and Spanish Train, then there will be some parts of this album that remind you of just how good C de B was, when the lyrics and songs were full of injenuity with tales of Christian crusades, games of Poker between the devil and the Lord and of dubious ladies removing all their clothing, whilst an alien spacemen visited us about the time of Christ. love songs in there, but then that's what he does best. But aside from those, there's also some quite strong tracks, more rocky than the rest, but still in the C Chris De Burgh style I know so well. The thing that delights me most about Chris de Burgh is his completeness in musical style. Not only does he write a variety of different songs, but the fact that he actually writes ALL of his tracks is to be commended. In fact, I've only ever heard him do a couple of covers, and those were generally in concert anyway. Chris does it all – he writes, he plays, he sings, and he tells stories. Yes – that's right – some of his songs are more like a ...
