I'm reviewing SPARK TO A FLAME (CD),which is a collection of Chris De Burgh songs first released in 1989. There are 16 tracks on the CD, & all are composed & performed by Chris De Burgh.Some you will recognise,but many you won't. I 'inherited' this CD ,but checking prices online you can buy it on amazon in CD format new for £7-£9......or used for under £2,which is a total bargain for this. It's also available in MP3 download format. I acquired this CD in a collection my sister was clearing out during a house move last year & I just love it. I’m sitting here listening to Where the Bums Go, by the Fun Lovin’ Criminals because I just don’t want to start this review. However, it’s my own fault as I did sort of suggest this to Excelle. Watch out for his review of Soulfly’s debut album. Anyway, I suppose I had better start. According to Allmusic.com’s, Chris De Burgh is “An art-rocker that occasionally writes pop-oriented material” uhuh, OK. Happily they classify him as “Adult Contemporary” which sounds like just the place for him – as he’s an adult and is not yet dead. It's nice to enjoy a good range of music. There's always something to listen to, and you'll never be stuck for a tune whatever your mood. But what if you could get all that from a single artist?
