Advantages: Good powerful music
Disadvantages: Not as good as the 87 album
For any fan of punk, new wave or ska this is a must. Kult hold a legendary status in Poland and whilst it might be impossible to understand the lyrics without translation, the music itself has a great moving feeling to it. The band's leader Kazik Staszewski is generally considered the engine behind the band and he penned most of the lyrics.
This album is their 3rd album and was released in 1988, the line-up today is completely different from this one but you could say that a lot of the power that the band had has now changed due to the change of politics and it being 2 decades later, they still gain enormous crowds though despite what seems to be almost constant touring.
A lot of people class this as a classic and to be honest I was more familiar with the previous album Posluchaj to do Ciebie, which contains several legendary tracks, this one however as a better sound to it whilst still retaining the political and socially observational lyrics. A signature sound of the band is Kazik's saxophone playing which fills just about any gap that isn't filled with powerful lyrics. It's really hard to define the band as although the music has strong elements of punk, new wave and ska, it's a mixture of the two which has never really been mixed in such a way and therefore gives the band a unique sound. The vocals are often clear, jazzy and poetical rather than raw and on this album in particular the band have more of a bluesy sound. A good album but I still prefer the 2nd one for it's purely powerful political lyrics and sound of revolution.
