Advantages: 3 or 4 good songs

Disadvantages: Quite a lot of dull songs

Always a bit of a cult artist, even in the late 70s when she first found commercial success, Joan Armatrading has continued to tour, and release quality albums.
This is not the best of them, though.

I think she's great, but on this album there are several songs that I really don't like. Some songs are repetitive, and overlong. The drum sound seems heavier than on previous albums, and at times the result is almost like Phil Collins with a female singer. Not really what I expect from Joan Armatrading.

There are some songs that I do like a lot: "True love " and "Cradled in your arms" are good tunes, and I especially like "Can't get over (How I broke your heart)", but there's nothing here that's a patch on the 70s "Joan Armatrading" album.
