Holly Valance, is of course a victim of the press and therefore maybe this album did not deserve what it got. I think it is a trully superb album from Holly Valance it carries a mixture of great pop which i find utterly catchy. I think Valance has a great pop voice, but their seems to be a great sense of ballads there too. This album i really expected to be full of fairly good ballads and great pop songs, but i was almost shocked to find a series of electric - pop, rocky style songs which to most are nothing less than fanatastic. ''State Of Mind'' is a great follow up, to the Valance's debut ''Footprints'' which was full of pop, this is more mature and amazingly and almost shockingly good.

''Hypnotic'' is the first example of the electric pop this album contains. This is very catchy, i found myself singing the chorus for hours. This has a great chorus, with great verses to go along with. This is mellow pop, with Valance making it sound fantastic,

''State Of Mind'' is a fantastic single and an amazing track. It has a catchy chrous which leaves you in amazement. A great backing track, with Holly's more poppy than balad voice making it a stonker pop single.

''Everything I Hate'' is a great song, which is about what it says really. It is a rocky, pop catchy single. It is about Holly Valance thinking she stands for everything she would hate in a person. I think this was meaningful in some context, it was good enough pop to make it stand out in this album.

''Desire'' is a great follow up single, and is of true single quality. This makes Holly Valance's pop career sound impressive. I think is one of the best pop songs she has done, it is catchy and makes you shake your booty.Great rhythm, very dancy, catchy, this is what best describes Holly Valance pop. Oustanding.

''Curious'' carries a great rhythm,
one which makes you tap your feet to the sound of Valance voice and then relucuntly joining in. I think this is a good pop track with the right amount of rock mixed in on the top.

''Ricochets'' again like almost any other Holly Valance track is great pop, it is fantastic. It made me feel curious. ''Like ''Desire'', i think it is a single quality track. Apparently Valance wrote this song, i think it stands for a electric pop, which is jazzy with Valance making it poppy!

''Roll Over'' is catchy, and instantly makes you dance around the room. This makes Valance natural pop and ballad voice stand out. This made me think that Valance can pull off a great track. Like ''Hypnotic'' and ''Desire'' i think it as a great rhythm and chorus which will make you dance the night away!

''Tongue-tied'' is a rare jazzy pop song, from Valance. With a reasonbly good sound which certainley makes me bop along to a reasonable jazz and pop track.

''Over 'n' Out'' this is pobably another track from this album, which i would not mind being turned into a single. I really like this song it is great it has a catchy chorus that will make you join in by a few listens.

''Somebody Out There'' is more or less a poppy ballad, very rare and fantastic as this song is, it is quite more suited as rocky. But i like the song it is carries a meaningful, and deepful message which i think says what Valance really is.

''Action'' is a commendable pop track, which again like most of Holly's tracks features a good chorus and rhythm. This made me bop along on the first listen, this song was shouting at me asking me to replay, and dance again to it. This is dancy, catchy, jazzy - any pop record should be like this. Fantastic!

''Double Take'' is distinctive from the whole
album, it is a good song with perhaps the most meaningful and deepful lyrics from Valance from any of her tracks on this album. This had me swaying from side to side. Excellent track, its poppy and just utter great!

I really think this is an excellent album featuring a selection of pop tracks with the right mixture of pop, jazzy, electo pop, and rock thrown in on top at the right level. Every track flows on from the other and each track in their own right seems distinctive. Every track has confirmed to me, Holly Valance is great artist.
