      Very helpful

      Really pretty good!

Up there with Dragonette and Sohodolls in the fun female fronted bands section of my music collection (can't believe I'm letting on to this actually!) is Chungking. Where Dragonette and Sohodolls go for a sexier and modern style, Chungking sounds more retro with the electronic sound courtesy of Sean Hennessey deeply rooted in the 80s and with pretty vocalist Jessie Banks ranging from a female sounding version of Fred Schneider (The B52's) through to something relatively similar to Blondie.

This album is upbeat and fun, an improvement in my eyes from the first but it might come as a disappointment to those who enjoyed the more relaxing result on "Hungry Years" or debut album "We Travel Fast"

The quirky Stay Up Forever with a chilled out Madnessesque brass section in the background and the alien in a frenzy type vocals blasting out some of the catchiest lyrics in recent times. The title track is not the only cracker either - the glammy "Love is Here to Stay" and the quirky "Itch & Scratch", Chungking are ultra-kitsch and sometimes it seems they might take it to far - after all there are a few songs where not a lot is going on "Baby" for instance. Banks has a cracking voice though and even the poorer songs have redeeming features.

This album is well worth a listen and I'm intrigued to hear what else will come out of this band because when it's good - it's really good.
