Saves The Day are a four-piece from New Jersey, a band who once were more of a Melodic Hardcore/Emo band than anything else, but now occupy more of an Indie Rock sound. Their 'Stay What You Are' album I would say blurs the boundaries of Indie Rock and Emo; it's not entirely either but what can be said of it is that it's an excellent album. 'Stay What You Are' begins with the fantastic track 'At Your Funeral', the first I ever heard from the band and the one that drew me to listening to any further of their music. I first heard this one when its video was played on Kerrang TV back in 2001, it really caught my eye and the music was absolutely beautiful. ... Read the complete review

Saves The Day are a brilliant band and I would class their kind of music in the pop-punk-emo genre. This album was released on the 10th of July 2001 and is their newest album though they are recording at the moment. Saves The Day are Chris Conely - vocals, Ted Alexander - guitar, David Soloway - guitar, Eban D-amico - bass and Bryan Newman - drums. They formed in the winter of 1997 in their home state, New Jersey, releasing their first demo shortly after which was self-titled. They almost immediately began playing shows with some huge hardcore and punk bands along the east coast. Their debut LP, 'Can't Slow Down' was released in August of 1998 on ... Of all the opinions I've written, the one on Saves the Day in general might just be my favourite. I'm not sure, but in the time since falling in love with their music at the time of writing the original opinion, I've grown to like them even more. I've checked through their back catalogue, unearthed some truly excellent songs, and most importantly, listened to music that I love, really, and would never have heard before stumbling upon this band. Saves the Day, although remaining shrouded by mystery and the fashionable intrigue that inevitably surrounds almost all types of underground, commercially undiscovered bands. This band is one of them, and I'm ... Read the complete review

OK normally when i "review" albums i listen to them about 9 or 10 times or maybe even more. But for this one, i'll do it different. Saves the Day are a band that i've known about from listening to other bands, but i've never paid particular interest to them (besides a few mp3s and so on). So for this "opinion" i'm going to give my exact FIRST impressions of this album, as i hear the tracks for the first time. #2At Your Funeral: a very nice mellow intro, not to sure about the line "this song will become the anthem of your underground". After the nice slow intro a great way to start into the song, ... Read the complete review
