... SORROW shows that sometimes the band can actually sing quite well. HEARTBEAT is a cheesy song with corny lyrics though has a good melody. THIS HEART WILL LOVE AGAIN has some horrible lyrics and the vocals are poor. EXPERIENCED and TOO WEAK TO RESIST are album filler and contain some awful lyrics. BETTER BEST FORGOTTEN is a song that gets better after hearing it a few times though I wouldn't listen to it too often. BACK TO YOU is a decent song though doesn't contain any energy which is the band's saving grace. L...more

Premium Review Step One - Steps: A Modern Classic? (159 words)

Steps! Where are they now? Well I think the majority of them can be found on whatever reality tv show are currently being thrust upon us! THe others have just drifted off back into obscurity where they came from. Step One was their first album, and it was released in the UK back in 1998. It had five memorable singles on it: 5,6,7,8 - An attempt to cash in on the line dancing popularity at the time. It also included an 'interesting' rap from Lee. Last Thing on My Mind - A Bananarama cover song, it was a real floor filler, and had its own dance routine (like most Steps songs!) One For Sorrow - A very Abba-esque feel, ...  Read the complete review

STEP ONE is the title of manufactured British band STEP's album. The album consits of 12 tracks. The opening song STEPTRO is a decent dance number with some weird lyrics though the melody is good. LAST THING ON MY MIND has a really catchy chorus thouh the vocals are quite weak. 5 6 7 8 is my favourite track on the album as it will get you dancing with it's country style music and fast paced lyrics that are great to dance to with lots of energy. ONE FOR SORROW shows that sometimes the band can actually sing quite well. HEARTBEAT is a cheesy song with corny lyrics though has a good melody. THIS HEART ...  Read the complete review

Step One - Steps: Steps, what a pile of rubbish!  (455 words)

For the love of all that is Holy, end this now. Some reasons why Steps is a bad, bad thing: 1) They are not musicians. They are a corporate creation. They should have their own industry, which vends music from pits outside of town, in order that true musicians (who write, sing, play their own music) can get the credit and airtime they deserve. 2) Their vapid, shallow minds and appearances encourage their fans to adopt vapid, shallow mindsets and appearances. But I suppose it makes them easier to avoid. 3) Those dance routines. Dance can be a wonderful art form. This massacres the name. 4) If ABBA were so good at making ...  Read the complete review

How many years is it since Steps split up? 3, 4, to be honest I’m not too sure now, so much has happened since then. But at the time steps were my life! (Yeah, yeah very sad I know!) But regardless of this Steps will always be one of my favourite bands! I know Step One is a really old album, but I had it on today and it brought back loads of memories of my “Steps Days!” so I thought I’d have to write a review about it! ***Steps*** Steps were a chart-topping group of 5 pop stars, 2 boys, “H” and Lee, and 3 girls, Lisa, Faye and Claire. Steps were one of the most popular groups of the late 90’s. There music was classed as pop, although most ...  Read the complete review
