Advantages: a couple of good songs

STEPTACULAR is an album by British band STEPS.
The album features 14 tracks which i will review.

The opening track is a cover of the BeeGees classic TRAGEDY. There is alot of energy in this cover and it will have you on the dance floor with it's memorable chorus.

AFTER THE LOVE HAS GONE is a classic Steps song with cheesy lyrics and bad vocals.

LOVE'S GOT A HOLD OF MY HEART has a good chorus that you can sing along with, but the rest is bad.

SAY YOU'LL BE MINE consists of really bad lyrics and a poor chorus.

I THINK IT'S LOVE follows the previous song although it is sung with more passion.

MAKE IT EASY ON ME gets better each time you hear it.

DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE is my favourite song on the album witha fantastic chorus with real energy.

MOVIN' ON and NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN revert back to stereotype with some poor singing and even worse lyrics.

WHEN I SAY GOODBYE and I SURRENDER are nothing more than album filler on the album.

SINE YOU TOOK MY LOVE AWAY has some good melodies and shows that sometimes the band can sing.

MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL features lyrics that tell a good story though it's just sung really badly.

The last song on the album is YOU'RE EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS TO ME which showcases everything the band stands for, corny lyrics and bad vocals, but at least there's some energy in the music.

Overall, this isn't the greatest album. While the band give it everything they've got it's still not enough. There are to many slow songs where their dance songs are better. Too many corny lyrics and not enough passion in the vocals. Even the title of the album is cheesy.

Avaliable from AMAZON at under a pound this is one to avoid.
