John Allair: Keyboards Herbie Armstrong: Acoustic guitar, electric rhythm guitar Mick Cox: Lead guitar Mark Isham: Trumpet, flugelhorn Pee Wee Ellis: Sax, flute All songs composed and sung by Van Morrison ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NB: The image and description at the top of this article appears to be for a re-mastering or maybe even a re-working of "Common One", released in 2008; the version I am reviewing below is the original 1980 issue of the album. The genre is also described as "country" - I myself certainly wouldn t classify it as "country" - it s not even close. I d say it s altogether uncategorisable. Van Morrison s ...

Rating:
This wonderful album of Van Morrison s I believe is extremely important, as it is the first of the spate of albums he created in which he starts his nostalgic journey back into his own past, containing powerful subjective impressions within the songs of his early life spent in Belfast. As well as this being the first of his intensely reminiscent albums, it also was released during Van s spiritual period, and the two tracks on "Avalon Sunset" which have a particularly "mystical" content, are "These Are The Days" and "Daring Night". They are my two favourite tracks from the album, though the whole album is superb. Though Van ...

am an atheist, do not believe in god, however find this music good and listen to it occasionally. In the first track Whenever god shines his light Van Morrison sings and is backed by sir Cliff Richards. Van has a growley, gravely voice and it contrasts with cliffs sweeter voice. This is an upbeat song with a gospel feel to it. I sit here listening to it tapping my fingers in time on the keyboard. This song has a feel good factor. Whenever god shines his light on me open up my eyes so I can see when I look up in the darkest night then I know everything is gonna be alright. The next song Contacting my angel. A slow song the guitar playing is good This song is a ...

The Best Of Nas - Nas
Hip-Hop & Rap - East Coast - 2002
Lisbon - Angra
Pleasant songs from each of Angra's albums thus far.
'Lisbon' isn't one of their better offerings.
Wintereich - Immortal Souls
Enjoyable guitars.
Sound becomes repetitive before too long.
Back To Business: G-unit Radio 14 - 50 Cent
Hip-Hop & Rap - East Coast - 2007
13 Stairway: The Children of the Night - Balzac
Continuing to evolve their sound, here featuring electronic influences.
The style doesn't always work. In fact, it almost always fails.
Came Out Of The Grave - Balzac
Balzac's best album, perfecting their style.
Some songs are still a little weak and over-repetitive.
Lord Of The Null Lines - Hyper On Experience
For Drug Crazed Grindfreaks Only! Live At Noctum Studios - Brutal Truth
Fairly decent grindcore E.P.
That's all there is to it.
Festival Of Death - Brodequin
Fast, I guess?
One of the worst production jobs in history.
