Finnish Funeral doom pioneers Skepticism are a much revered band, and with good reason. Released back in 1995 on Red Stream, their debut full length 'Stormcrowfleet' is a both crushingly heavy and immensely soothing listen. Low, rumbling riffs meet with melancholy yet hopeful synths with an almost regal pomp about them, and the music ebbs and flows beautifully. The abstract, glowing amber cover art is wholly keeping with the music, which is both oppressive and full of warmth, bringing to mind the dying moments of a blood-red sunset, whilst the crawling, simplistic drum patterns merge well with the sorrowful droning riffs and funereal synths, with the album ...  Read the complete review
