Vengeance is the debut album by New Model Army and like most of their work can t easily be categorised, a mixture between punk, new wave and often including heavier or even softer folk stuff with an often militant style to it. The majority of lyrics contain political views and many of the songs have quality bass licks worthy of The Stranglers. The most powerful songs for me are Christian Militia and Spirit of the Falklands, the poetic lyrics expressed in a brash manner with perfect timing to the music is undoubtedly the band s strongest point. New Model Army is a rock band with influences of punk & folk music, it's very hard to give an accurate desciption of what their music is actually like, but on the whole everyone that I know who has listened to it likes it. I would recommend everyone to give them a chance. Their songs are great and they tend to have deep and meaningful type lyrics which makes for very interesting listening. They sing about all sorts, the meaning of life, protests and even love songs. These tracks were written between 1985 and ...
