Stranger than fiction was bad religions 8th studio album and there first release under there new signing at Atlantic records. There previous album had been great, and now they were under a much larger record company most people thought this album would be even better, however there were of course concerns that they would become too commercialised and that they would loose their flare, however this wasn't the case at all. The first song of the album is incomplete, it gets the album under way in a spectacular fashion, this is a quite fast and very upbeat song, his vocals are top notch and some of the best iv heard of the whole 7 albums previous to this one, ... 'Stranger Than Fiction' is the 1994 album release from Bad Religion, the bands first album released on the major record label Atlantic Records. This is the bands eighth studio album, an eighteen track release and one which consists of 42 minutes of music. The track '21st Century (Digital Boy)' which appears on this album was actually originally recorded for the 1990 Epitaph released album 'Against the Grain'; it is also included on this 'Stranger Than Fiction' album however as when Sony first listened to this album they couldn't hear a potential single and therefore felt it fit to regurgitate a former favourite in the Bad Religion back-catalogue for commercial gain. ... Tensions were high as Bad Religion sold out to the mainstream and released their first album on major label Atlantic in 1994, but fortunately for everyone, 'Stranger Than Fiction' made no compromise and stuck rigidly to the band's popular punk sound, with an even greater authenticity than had been heard since the eighties. Regularly cited as one of their classic releases, I find it a little disappointing compared to their earlier classic period, and in the wake of the experimental 'Generator' and 'Recipe for Hate' it's almost disappointingly consistent, but the songwriting ability is still as strong as it ever was, or would be again until Brett Gurewitz's eventual ...
