Jimbob and Fruitbat are probably best remembered for attacking Phillip Schofield at a Smash Hits Award Winners Party, but this singles collection shows that they were more than just a pair of punch drunk thugs. Named after Fruitbat, real name Les Carter, who was a bit of a lad, the band formed in 1988 out of the ashes of Jamie Wednesday when Jimbob and Fruitbat were booked to perform a charity event at the Astoria and recorded backing tapes to support them – the band’s sound arrived fully formed.
