The Rising was released in 2005,marking the return of Aamir Khan to big screen after 4 long years. The project took a couple of years to make and A.R.Rahman was the only possible composer who could try his hand at such a film- a period drama set in India during english ruling. Kailash Kher's strong vocals take center stage with the title track "Mangal Mangal", a short song on the protagonist. This is one song I am still hooked to,primarily due to Kailash's brilliant rendition. "Main vari vari" sees Rahman trying something new- a mujra song picturised on Rani Mukherjee.
