Stripped a Rolling Stones favourites compilation (?) released by VIRGIN as an LP in 1995 and CD 1998. The front cover shows a picture of the 4 members of the band, Mick, Keith, Ronnie Wood and Charlie to me they appear rather New York punkish in a Warholesque way (Velvet Underground). In this year 1995 the Stones completed a world tour including Mexico, Australasia and Europe. During the tour the band took time to record ACOUSTIC versions of classics, these tracks make up the album STRIPPED. ***CONTENT*** The tunes (written by Jagger/Richards unless stated) in order of appearance: 1. Keith's mistake on the beginning of LOVE IN VAIN makes you laugh, and it's great, that they have even included this. The Stones, like they always wanted to be, are shown. First I was skeptical about the idea of the greatest rock band doing some kind of an unplugged-album,but now I know: They come from the black music, which sounds best in front of a small audience or alone in a studio. It's also not a typical unplugged-album, Mick says, that the ones, that are, are boring. This album mainly includes songs from BEGGARS BANQUET to EXILE ON MAIN STREET, and that alone already can't be bad, as, when they came out, it was in the Rolling Stones' best time. ...
