All Hits - All Saints

Rating:
This is their ‘best of’ album. Which may seem odd as they have only had two studio albums before now. But All Saints have had loads of hits, including five UK No. 1s. All Hits shows that the All Saints wrote loads of good singles, and none better than Pure Shores, with Orbit's sweeping synths and melodic bleeps meeting All Saints' soulful vocals. A classic. I love it. The Orbit/All Saints magic was repeated on Black Coffee, which was weird, stop/start pop which I liked, but not so much, I’ll admit. Never Ever, their first major hit, was amazingly catchy. I don’t think there’s anyone without it going round their head. Their final ...

At first when I heard the All Saints were having a Greatest Hits I was happy and excited. Getting all their singles, plus new tracks, remixes and all! But then I saw the tracklisting. No wonder it only made #19 in the charts. Quite simply it is as the title says - All (their) Hits. Now don't get me wrong - All Saints were great and 90% of their singles were top notch. But they only actually had 8 singles. This means a very short album - and if you are a fan of their's you will probably already have the first two albums. So all you get is the bonus track if Melanie Blatt and Artful Dodger, two boring tracks that were on Saints And Sinners anyway - and a remix ...

All Saints: The Remix Album - All Saints

I am a massive fan of this girl group, even though most of these kinds of bands dont really appeal to me. So when All Saints first came out, they were unfairly tarred with the Spice Girls brush and I really do think it took them a bit of time to prove to serious music fans that they were a little different and little better than The Spice Girls. I love all the original tracks of the remixes of this album and was worried that I would hate this album subsequently. I didn t hate it but its fair to say it does get a bit tedious towards the end. It has nearly all the chart toppers like Never Ever , Bootie Call , Under The Bridge , Lady Marmelade and I know Where It s ...

Products similar to Studio 1 - All Saints
War Master - Bolt Thrower
More accessible without compromise.
Medium tempo is less thrilling.
The Unexpected - Beautiful Sin
Power metal that balances melody and heaviness.
Female vocals are occasionally unimpressive, and the Helloween "cover" is plain cheeky.
The Acoustic Adrian Belew Vol.1 - Adrian Belew
You may be a fan of acoustic albums.
Dull and repetitive, with weak material.
His Last Walk - Bless The Fall
If you really, really need to hear some more emo.
Sounds the same as everything else.
From The 13th Sun - Candlemass
A very different sound with great use of effects.
This is... this is just Black Sabbath, isn't it? But ever-so-slightly rearranged?
Buried Alive - Batmobile
A commercial release of old demos and rare live material for the fan who has to have everything.
Inferior sound quality and some bad experiments, but at least they're trying.
Chapter Six - Candlemass
Still strong with a new singer and new direction.
Early tracks seem disappointing by comparison.
Ancient Dreams - Candlemass
Continues the epic doom style, with a spectacular vocal performance throughout.
Songs are starting to sound the same.
Blasts From The Past - Batmobile
Generous serving of songs.
No new material, and a lot of repetition.
The Best Of - Joy Division
A good introduction to the band
Misses some less known classics
