Never one to shy away from a challenge, I've decided it's about time I jumped in feet first into the music category. So without further ado, I'd like to welcome you to the quirky, fantastical world of the Barenaked Ladies. About the Band Barenaked Ladies are a Canadian alternative rock band, renowned for their comedic ... Read the complete review

"Stunt" is the fourth studio album from Canadian alternative rockers Barenaked Ladies. It is also probably the only Barenaked Ladies album that managed to sell in considerable numbers on this side of the pond, as it coincided with the Ladies' brief hint of commercial success here in the UK: early 1999, when novelty pop-rap "One ... If we were dabbling in a game of word association and I said 'pop music', I'd probably be greeted with responses of 'S-Club 7', 'Hearsay' or '{Insert Expletive}'. As you will have gathered from my recent op's I am one of the world's biggest Barenaked Ladies fans. The BNL's produce the best pop music ... Read the complete review

I bought Stunt, the first Barenaked Ladies CD I got, three years ago after hearing ‘If I Had A $1,000,000’ on a local radio station. I instantly fell in love with the song and also the band which made me go out and buy their Stunt album. They are so different and really refreshing with fabulous songs and lyrics. Anyway on to ... Barenaked Ladies are instantly recognisable from their mellow, chilled out, Canadian voices and their funky, light guitar playing. Stunt with a special edition bonus track is more than worth the money. It is a brilliant album to relax to with its smooth and sleek sounds. One Week the first song on the album and also on American Pie ... Read the complete review

I have owned Stunt since the single 'One Week' was released about three years ago. I loved the song for about three weeks (not the one) until Radio 1 found it necessary to play it every twenty minutes and then I it started to really annoy me. However yesterday, after not listening to the album for a while I unearthed it and decided to give ... Read the complete review

Like it says in the title, most of the tracks are nothing like One Week, the single which made so many people buy this album. Most of the tracks are much more mellow, and some have almost a country feel to them. There's some dry humour on the album, especially with tracks like "Who needs sleep" and "Some fantastic" ... This was the album that finally got the Barenaked Ladies noticed in the UK. I was aware of them as a wacky, beachwear-doffing band before "Stunt" came out, and must say I thought they were very similar to They Might Be Giants - they have been described as the "Canadian Housemartins", which seemed about right. Even the ... Read the complete review

If you are true hard core BNL fan when you listen to this CD you are going to notice it is missing there usual pep and some of the lyrics and plays on life that made them a truely unique and original band. That is not to say this is not as good as there other CD's but compared to there other master works such as 'Maybe You Should ... Read the complete review

A lot of older BNL fans say that this album is a sellout for the band, and that Box Set has become a self-fullfilling prophecy. Others might think that Barenaked Ladies are simply a one-hit wonder band. But this is simply not true. While the album is definitely not Gordon, it still rocks, and it's still BNL. It's just different. Alright, ... Read the complete review

What a superb album. With a load of top songs with not only catchy tunes but lyrics you can listen to and understand. This Canandian rock band have excelled themselves. I've not heard any of their other stuff otherb than the songs on this album, but I am now very very interested. You can't not listen to this album, without ... Read the complete review

Finally, the Barenaked ladies have reached the commercial success they deserve. After years of an ever growing cult following, BNL finally landed a US number one with the brilliant One Week (got to Number five here) and Stunt sold out in droves. The album itself is probably their second best behind Gordon, and contains as many serious tracks as ... Read the complete review

Do not let the title of this opinion fool you, I love the Barenaked Ladies, especially the album called 'Stunt'. How can you describe the type of music they play on this album though? I suppose the Barenaked Ladies either fall into lots of musical categories or none particular category at all. On this album there are songs which have ... Read the complete review
