Advantages: great songs, bad religion at their best

Disadvantages: some of the guitar needs sorting out

Suffer was the third full length album from the punk band Bad Religion. It was actually released in 1988, 5 years after their second album, their seconds was released only one year after the first so it was a bit unclear why it was taking them so long to make their third album when they made their second in just a year, and have been making more in fairly short time ever since.
The only thing I can really think of was that they had a lot of songs written for their first and second, but then totally ran out, or perhaps they just needed these 5 years to create the best songs they possibly could.

The first song is a style of song they do that I really like, the guitar isn't too over the top there isn't little guitar solos going on everywhere and the basis of the song much revolves around the singing and the lyrics, which are both great.

1000 more fools is perhaps my favourite song off the whole album, I love the versus of singing, its so well written. I think that the guitar parts between the versus could have been planned out a little bit better but none the less this is still a great song and I always enjoy listening to it.

Best for you has a much faster style, and much more aggressive style, especially at the start of the song. Again I think the guitar could have been planned out a little bit better as it does start getting repetitive after a little while, but still another favourite of mine off this album.

1. You Are (the Government)
2. 1000 More Fools
3. How Much is Enough?
4. When?
5. Give You Nothing
6. Land of Competition
7. Forbidden Beat
8. Best for You
9. Suffer
10. Delirium of Disorder
11. Part II (The Numbers Game)
12. What Can You Do?
13. Do What You Want
14. Part IV (The Index Fossil)
15. Pessimistic Lines

This album was only their third, but was better than the first and second album they did by a clear mile. Every song on this album is pretty good, there are a few weaknesses with the guitar arrangement on some of the songs but none the less its still an amazing album.

Summary: wonderful bad religion
