Hypnotize - System of a Down
by BlueMidget - written on 05/11/06 (Very useful, 198 readings)
Rating:
For those of you who do not know who System Of A Down are, they are four-piece "metal" band. (I ve seen them classed as everything from heavy-rock to nu-metal, but let s, for arguments sake, stick with "metal"). They re of Armenian-American origins and are renowned for the political content of some of their albums, the wacky nature of a lot of their songs and their odd time signatures. They draw influences from the likes of Black Sabbath, but everything is tinged with their Armenian background, producing a unique and individual sound that has yet to be rivalled, (at least in this reviewer s opinion). Hypnotize , System Of A Down s second album of ...

Rating:
First off System Of A Down rule!!!!! Hypnotise is by far the best album so far, and as in mesmerize Darren ( guitarist) gets to sing a lot more. All of the tracks are different in some way or another there songs on politics and war are so true it’s frightening. Anyways if you are a system of a down fan then you will know that the last track is a longer version of the first track on the previous album mesmerize witch is a nice little touch to the fact that the 2 albums mesmerize and hypnotise are of 2 parts of one intended album. Also included to the album is a nice fold out case complete with artwork and lyrics to all the songs. On the whole this album is brilliant ...

System Of A Down - System Of A Down

Rating:
What do you get if you cross 4 insane, politically charged American Armeninans in a band? It sounds like it could have a good punchline, and it does - System Of A Down , and their self titled debut! Acclaimed hard rock producer Rick Rubin had faith in the guys ever since discovering them, and with good intention. The SOAD boys might not be the snazziest musicians on the block, but they sure do know how to rock simply, well, tightly, and by mish-mashing in some Jazz, Waltz and Far Eastern influences, topped off with more than a sprinkling of near Rage Against The Machine style political agendas. The band's debut album may not be one of the biggest sellers in hard ...
