This album deserves a round of applause because Supergrass have once again shown that they don't have to stick with one tried and tested formula to make good music. This is different from their previous work in that it draws on many different influences to create such nuggets as 'What went wrong(in your head)' and 'Mary'. But in the usual Supergrass style, they have included a couple of fun songs that sream along at pace such as the ever likeable 'Pumping on your stereo' and 'Moving'. As with all Supergrass songs, nothing is too cheesy, but that doesn't seem to affect their music, in fact it makes it better. They draw from a large ... Read the complete review

This is a fantastic album and in my opinion one of the best albums which came out in 1999. If you dont belive me when i say that all the songs were fantastic you have to look at the fact that their somgs got so much air play especially 'Mary' which in my opinion is the best track on the album - the video is meant to be fantastic but i cant see it cos it has been banned on tv due to the fact that it is based on the texus chain saw massacre. The album cover is not that brilliant but it isnt that bad either its just a bit boring. Another great music vid was pumping on your stereo where the band were all like muppets and it worked really well and is incredibly funny ... Read the complete review

After quite liking "Moving" and "Pumping On Your Stereo", I thought I'd give Supergrass' self-titled album a go. Half expecting to take it back, I got a nice surprise when I found I liked it and subsequently went out and bought it's predecessors "I Should Coco" and "In It For The Money". After listening to the other two, I realised that Supergrass actually mellowed out a lot with "Supergrass". After the fast and furious pace of the other two albums, I could see how it might not appeal to other fans. I think it's a brilliant album personally, cleverly thought out. It starts with ... If you don't purchase this CD there is something cleary wrong here. It is a beautifully orchestated melodic and tranquil rocking good time. Listen to YOUR LOVE and you are immediately swept into a hook that sweeps you away. God these guys are bringing backy PUNCHING melodies. Also note MARY...one of the best songs on the cd...The background chorus will be in your head for days. Supergrass take off in places where other radio accessable acts wouldn't dare. They challenge to be different than other British acts. This album rocks and then sways...it's definately a MELLOW relaxing affair...recommended on hot days lying on grassy noles.... ... Now...I'm not a Supergrass fan, let me make that clear! But I got Supergrass' self-titled third album as a present for my birthday last year; someone assumed I'd like it...I have no idea why! So if you're a 'grass fan, my opinion will be invalid to you. Anyway, as you may know, ever since the band's debut album 'I Should Coco' and their hit single 'Alright', the band have been very cheery cheeky chappies with clean white teeth and the like, but by the time they reached their second album they were just 'In It For The Money', so I guess they've run out of drugs then. The band aren't gloomy or depressing ... Read the complete review
