It's a testiment to the quality of the theme that it was not only reused in the sequels and Superman Returns, but it even made it into an eighties cartoon series, and cues from the score featured in Smallville during Chris Reeve's guest shot. Premium Review Superman The Movie - Soundtrack: You will believe a man can fly to music (363 words)

I just read the other review on here and a fine one it was. Alas there is no chance for me to review the movie itself since neither the DVD or blu-ray (of which I own both) is listed. However the music is special by itself. Quite simply, this is the movie of my childhood. Whilst I grew up a Trekkie, Superman The Movie was the one I watched the most as a child. It is quite simply a cimematic milestone. Anyhow, I will save that for a sunstantive review one the blu-ray is listed. John Williams really hit his stride in the 70s and 80s. With 1978 pushing on, he was already a household name, which makes the first score of his for the new year something of a surprise when he scored Brian De Palma's thriller "The Fury." Being pretty much a horror film, The Fury is one of Williams' most disconcerting efforts ever and has garnered a ...  Read the complete review

Fisrt of its type - completely unique none

Great collection of songs

The perfect continuation of a popular score with a lot more drama thrown in If you never bought into any aspect of the Star Wars saga, then you probably won't like it

Perfection in film scoring: works in film and works just as well alone Scarcity of album very unfortunate

A great fantasy adventure score with a lots of rich lyricism. A bad reputation for being saccharine.
