I am a massive fan of Paul Simon. From the enduring beauty of the songs from his Simon and Garfunkel days to the musically groundbreaking and politically daring album Graceland, Paul Simon has amazed me over the years with his incredible musical talent and his ability to apply that talent in so many different ways. Surprise was released in 2006, six years after his previous album You're The One. While I enjoyed "You're The One," I didn't feel it was as inspired and meaningful as I found "Surprise." The intricate workings of a great legendary mind like Paul Simon still remains a mystery when we embark on the journey through his most recent album ‘Surprise.’ This extraordinary album must be first categorized and a myth must be dispelled.
