Advantages: 18 cool songs, 3 beautiful ladies, the biggest girl group today

Disadvantages: Songs start to sound familiar, Michelle doesn't really contribute much

I wouldn't go as far as saying this is a non beatable album but it's definetly a way above average effort!
Here is my track by track review:
(by the way, DC means Destiny's Child)

INDEPENDENT WOMEN Part 1-
Reasonably good starting song. Very girly type theme which does drag on thorugh the whole album. A party type of beat, strong dance rhythm swinging throughout.

SURVIVOR-
A totally original fast memorable catchy song. The album's title track is one of the exceedingly brilliant ones that stay with you. Also, Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle provide powerful lyrics through the basis of the song.

BOOTYLICIOUS-
Not especially great but worth its number 2 position in the charts. Fast, heavy beats (taken from "The Edge Of Seventeen" track) give the song it's distinctive sound and Beyoncé and Kelly manage to release some great vocal moves but theres just something missing with this song...

NASTY GIRL-
The huge vibes in this track really provide good listening!A fairly relaxed swinging song which is another massive hit!

FANCY-
The chorus in "Fancy" reminds me of some sort of Gospel melody. Good in all areas here. Verses extra smooth aswell.

APPLE PIE A LA MODE-
All through the song the same sort of words and style appears over and over again. Not too impressed with this song. Chorus slightly weak too.

SEXY DADDY-
It's always nice to have something good happen after a real bad thing. This is what happpens here. A classy r and b masterpiece with excellent vocal work from Kelly.

PERFECT MAN-
Taken from the "Romeo Must Die" film featuring the late Aaliyah, Perfect Man is another r and b smash with huge potentials. You might think it sounds pretty boring but this is what we expect off a band like DC, a solid medium lengthed track.

INDEPENDENT WOMEN part 2-
A big improvement to part 1 but still not ex
cellent.Basically, it's the same song zoomed up a bit with a happier feel about it.

HAPPY FACE-
Not a normal song for an american black female group. Filled with pop tunes that does in some ways make a rich, lively happy song. Better than the likes of Independent Women but doesn't face competiton with Survivor.

DANCE WITH ME-
A medium, fair track that provides no essential listening but is still a minor hit. I couldn't imagine it being a disco single because its not muchg of a dance track.

MY HEART STILL BEATS-
Slow ballad featuring just Beyoncé (not that it really matters seem as Kelly and Michelle don't do very much). Gets a tiny bit louder but it actually sounds better quiet. Very pleasant "disney anthem" style which is brilliant listening with Beyoncé's soothing voice.

EMOTION-
An updated version of The Beegees hit single, Emotion (second time round) is much bigger and better than the original. A slow, beautiful rhythm lurks alongside exceptional singing from all 3 lovely ladies.

BROWN EYES-
Yet another different sounding track. This time, not an anti men song, quite the opposite. It really is a pleasing fast ballad but it is not made obvious. It's still sung in the usual DC style, but the backing music is extraordinary in a cool way!

DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE-
Believe it or not, I've never really paid much attention to this song. Just listening to it now, the chorus is pretty hot material but sadly it sounds very, very familar to older Destiny child songs.

THE STORY OF BEAUTY-
The issues brought up in the song are very serious and it takes a hugely brave band to bring them up. DC have proved they can handle this kind of thing and they've made it into a song that deserves an award. Sounds slightly similar to something else but that doesn't matter; the point is it's rapped up a hugely catchy strong song.

GOSPEL MEDLEY- <
br>I've already mentioned that DC can sing in a gospel style and they make sure we're aware of this on the Gospel Medley.
Splendid control of the vocal chords from all the girls and the songs are sung superbly.

OUTRO-
Not much to say about the final sort of track. The girls sing thier praise about each other, a perfect way to finish a long, brilliant album!

So on average, all the tracks are good in a way- most excellent.
Stronger vocals from Beyoncé and Kelly since the last album and Michelle, well, she doesn't really sing any major parts.
