      a great irish punk album

Swagger was the first album from the band Flogging Molly. For those who haven't heard of them before and have never listened to there music they are an Irish American punk band with a real good Irish American blend of punk, they do some really fast style punk to some really slow stuff too and there lyrics are very well written as well.

The first track off the album, salty dog kicks the album off with a bang. It sounds very Irish to start with, I love how it start fast, but still quite mild with only one instrument but then they all come in and it sounds so loud and really builds the song up very well.

The worst day since yesterday is a fairly slow song compared to a lot of the others, it starts off very mild and has a great instrumental opening to it. The lyrics are very moving and quite sad but is still a really great song.

Another song name with the word dog in it, every dog has its day isn't as good as salty dog at the start off the album, its similar in the style that it starts off quite slow but then really gets going as all the instruments come in and start backing it. It may not be as good as salty dog but I still really like the lyrics to this one.

Devils Dance floor is one of my favourites off the album, it starts off with a kind of clapping instrument and then a whistle comes in which carries out through out the song. I just really like how the versus are quite quit with only the whistle and the clapping going on behind them, it manages to really keep pace in the song through and works so well by building the pace up for the chorus. Also a very catchy chorus.

      1. Salty Dog
      2. Selfish Man
      3. Worst Day Since Yesterday
      4. Every Dog Has Its Day
      5. Life In A Tenement Square
      6. Ol' Beggars Bush
      7. Like Of You Again
      8. Black Friday Rule
      9. Grace Of God Go I
      10. Devil's Dance Floor
      11. These Exiled Years
      12. Juan El Sentimental
      13. Far Away Boys

As this was the first album from Flogging Molly, its clear to see they weren't fully developed yet, however they did still have some really great songs and had put a stamp on the album with their own style of Punk.
