Ambehr is an Armenian heavy metal band based in the traditional style but also influenced by the melodic side of death metal. Most songs are led by Vitalyj and Zurab's pleasant and often slow guitar harmonies that often remind of the folk-influenced Gothenburg bands, while drummer Hrast has fun messing around underneath at Art plays bass as well as providing a mixture of sung and growled vocals. Growling aside, this is relatively light and melodic stuff with a slight gothic edge that comes to the fore in tracks like 'Lyrical,' enhanced by soprano singing from Maria in many songs to add a grander atmosphere, concluding in the satisfying vocal duet ballad 'Alone' that ...

One of the greatest metal albums of all time, lots of classics, a cohesive album, good lyrics, music and production A bit hard to swallow at first for some people, some of the guitar solos sound cheesey - but were probably still cool then, and are still exciting

Some good old tunes... Some naff dated ones...

Heavy Metal - 1995

Exceptional guitars and vocals, and the other guys aren't bad either. A few later tracks fail to stand out quite as much.

Enjoyable old-school black metal, with great vocals and some cool guitars. Mostly uninspired, with lousy production.

Previously rare material made available. It's unrefined, unimpressive metalcore.

An excellent release from Thrice showcasing a great maturity when compared to earlier albums. It's all over far too quickly.

Odinist - Blut Aus Nord
Departure from the tedious electronic direction. Every song sounds the same, and lacks energy.

If I Were Britannia I'd Waive The Rules - Budgie
Maintains the annual album release pattern. A distinct slump.

Generator - Bad Religion
The album contains a number of excellent punk rock tracks. The first track is the best on the album and the rest pale in comparison.

For Victory - Bolt Thrower
More solid Bolt Thrower. Nothing we haven't heard before.

Decadence - Head Automatica
Bouncy and truly exciting powerpop music, tremendous fun to listen to. A couple of the tracks here are a little disappointing.
