Advantages: A few more songs for fans.

Disadvantages: Distinctly average material.

A short E.P. release between full-lengths, 'Symphony of Death' is far from an essential instalment in Grave Digger's discography, but for containing entirely original material it's still an enjoyable bit on the side for fans. Showcasing a slightly slower approach that would be more fully realised on subsequent albums, this is a reasonable bridge between 'The Reaper' and 'Heart of Darkness,' but none of the songs are particularly memorable.

The 'Intro' is perhaps my favourite, for achieving the impressive feat of being simultaneously cool and rubbish, a synthesised violin wail that suits the album artwork (but I would be biased, having something of a Grim Reaper fixation for as long as I can remember). 'Back to the Roots' features some rather cheesy lyrics that once again seem focused on the band's own integrity, despite having sold out in the past, while 'World of Fools' is a little slower and slightly more experimental. Only 'Shout It Out' is comparable to the old style of Grave Digger for being faster, but will still be forgotten as soon as the next track comes around.

1. Intro
2. Symphony of Death
3. Back to the Roots
4. House of Horror
5. Shout It Out
6. World of Fools
7. Wild and Dangerous

Summary: Grave Digger's second E.P. (1994).
